I did not expect to be enjoying The Bad Batch as much as I am and the worldbuilding is a huge part of that. And as I mentioned the other day, a significant percentage of the fun I'm having with it is the fun of recognition, but for the most part I feel like its doing genuinely good work filling in significant blanks and telling interesting new stories about the recognizable characters that it pulls in; I don't at all mind it being a kind of anthology show with the Bad Batch as a loose connecting thread if that's what it feels like being.
